About the Center
CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health is proud to announce plans to open the St. John Neumann School for Children and Families in 2020, under the organization’s community-driven initiative – Healthy Columbia. The new school will be located at 401 Locust St. in Columbia. Construction is expected to begin in early 2019 and the school is anticipated to open in early 2020.
The school will serve children ages 6-weeks to 5-years-old and will have a unique family-focused approach that centers on the social-emotional development and health of the children and families served. Families whose children attend the school will benefit from having access to an on-site family wellness coach and case manager who can connect them with additional support services throughout the community based on each child’s individual needs. Children who attend the school will be provided with freshly-prepared, locally-sourced meals and snacks daily, and families who qualify may also benefit from the school’s tuition discount program, a sliding fee scale based on household income levels.
